Bed Crumbs
Snacking between the sheets is one of my favorite things to do. Eating in general is always favorable to me, but when I’m laying in bed, watching a movie, food just seems to taste better.
Some snacks are just plain better than others – no matter where you choose to enjoy them. For instance, some snacks just end up making you hungrier. Eggos don’t usually do that, but tonight they did. I just downed a buttery and syrupy stack of three lightly-toasted Eggos and my stomach is still making a slow groan every couple of minutes.
I’m usually a pretty liberal eater – I’ll always give in to my hunger. In fact, I have been known to eat upwards of three separate dinners. However, tonight I engaged in a discussion about snacks. (Yes, I have the most stimulating of conversations and you’re jealous.)
Some well-known (Ross) snacks I can be found noshing on include:
Cheese and crackers – a great introduction to an early-evening meal and a common party favorite, but won’t suffice if you’re trying to fill up some serious stomach real estate.
Pickles - delicious any time of the day, but best served on a plate alongside a sandwich and chips.
Cottage cheese – tasty alone or atop a chef’s salad, not a good late-night choice due to the dairy content.
Eggos – best as breakfast, but two or three at two or three are also just as tasty.
Chocolate-chip granola bars – I consume up to four in a typical day from one of the two boxes in my desk drawer.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch – one bowl makes a delicious snack, two bowls makes me smile.
A bagel plus cream cheese – usually a breakfast side-item for me, but I have been known to fill the space between a bagel top and bagel bottom with a lot more than just cream cheese.
If you try and enjoy any of these foods in bed, I suggest you don’t leave any evidence. Bed crumbs are annoying, like shoe splinters, gum in your hair, or a dog that religiously poops in the kitchen.
All this talk of food has got me hungry. I’m off to see the kitchen, (but I’m putting my shoes on first).
